The Craigmore Family Practice occupies 600 square metres. It consists of 11 GP consulting rooms, 2 pathology rooms, a dental clinic, physiotherapy practice and consulting rooms for specialists.
Fees and billing arrangements
We are a bulk billing practice however, there are several services that do not attract a
Medicare rebate. Such services would include: Pre-employment medical examinations
and reports, commercial driving licence assessments and surgical procedures. For information regarding the fee schedule and length of appointment required for such services please ask at reception. All Workcover/ Motor Vehicle Accident consultations must be paid for on the day until a Claim number has been given to the reception staff.
Changes in Procedure Fees
For general consultations, our clinic offers a bulk billing service to all patients with a Medicare Card or DVA Health Card. We also offer direct billing for foreign visitors and students with OSHC who are eligible members. Fees are applicable to ReturnToWorkSA consultations according to the fee schedule set out on their website.
Patients will encounter out of pocket expenses when services outside of general consultations are performed. Some examples include Procedures), and completion of certain paperwork.
Please be aware that other health professionals (e.g. pathology, radiology, specialists) may charge an out of pocket fee and patients should inquire with individual organisations to determine this.
As of 1st January 2020, please note that there is a charge to be paid on day of booking a procedure the full amount of $66 plus consultation fee.
Once booked and paid our staff will assist you to immediately lodge a claim for your rebate for the consultation part of the visit and you will receive your rebate from Medicare, leaving you with an out of pocket expense of $66 for the procedure.
Our practice is committed to preventive care. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventive health services appropriate to your care. An example of this would be a pap smear or annual flu vaccination reminder. If you do not wish to be part of this system please let us know at reception.
Management of your Personal Health Information
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff. We abide by the National Privacy Principals available at http://www.oaic.gov.au/
Changing your address?
Please make sure you advise us of any change in your address or telephone number so that we can contact you should an emergency occur. We can also forward a change of address form to Medicare for you. Please ask the reception staff for more information.
If you have a problem we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your doctor, Practice Manager or receptionist. You may prefer to write to us or use our suggestion box. We take your concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. Please ring 8255 1999 for an appointment. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time. Emergencies will always be given priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforseen delay or your doctor has been called away. Appointment times are generally 10 minutes but longer consultation times are available and encouraged so please ask our receptionist if you require some extra time. Appointments are available in the following languages Bengali, Hindi, Urdu and Shona. If you or a family member require an interpreter service, we can organise this for you, please let us know when you make the appointment.
GP’s in the practice may be contacted during normal surgery hours. If the GP is with a patient, a message will be taken and the reception staff will advise you when it is likely that the GP will return your call. Your call will always be put through to the GP in an emergency.
Due to their personal nature, no results will be discussed over the phone (with the exception of INR results for patients on anticoagulants). Patients are requested to make a follow up appointment with their doctor.

We ask patients to make every effort to attend the surgery for consultations, Home visits are available by special arrangement for regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery.
